Third Consecutive Gold at NYF Radio Awards for Vocal Chords
Vocal Chords: ‘Iarla Ó Lionáird in conversation with Peggy Seeger’ has won Gold in the Biography/Profile category at the New York Radio Festival 2018.
“It’s immensely rewarding to have the recognition of our radio peers for our work in the Vocal Chords series. Since 2014 we’ve been working with the outstanding singer Iarla Ó Lionáird on this series to explore the journey of the human voice in song. This Gold for the Peggy Seeger feature in 2017 is our 4th award for the series since 2015 and our third GOLD.
Crafting radio like this is team work and its the hard work of our audio editor Pearse Ó Caoimh who helped me craft the final show as well as the good fortune we have to work with such a talented and engaging presenter. We also want to thank our commissioning editor Olga Buckley who supported us from day one and of course our funding support from the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland and the TV licence fee.
Nothing in this series could have been made without the public funding support of the BAI scheme and we are extremely grateful for that support to our creative and artistic work.”
